8 DSC OPERATION ■■ Sending a Non-Distress call (Continued) DDSending a Polling Reply call (For only the USA version) Send a Polling Reply call when a Polling Request call is received. 4. Push [ACK] . 1. When a Polling Request call is received: ••Alarm sounds. 2. Push any [Alarm Off] . 3. Push [Accept] . Push Push ••Enters the DSC Task mode. ••T he call contents screen is displayed. LLRotate [CH/ENT] to view the call contents. 5. P ush [Call] to send the Reply call. 6. Push [Standby] to return to the Main screen. TIP: When "Polling ACK" is set to "Auto," the transceiver automatically sends the call. DDSending a Test call Testing on the exclusive DSC distress and safety calling channels should be avoided as much as possible by using other methods. Normally the Test call would require no further communications between the two stations involved. 1. P ush [Compose Other] to display the COMPOSE NON- DISTRESS screen. LL T o display the screen from the Menu screen: ([MENU] > Compose Non-Distress) 2. Select "Message Type," then push [ENT]. 3. Select "Test." Rotate + Push 4. Select "Address," then push [ENT]. 44
