SET MODE 8 SPCH LAN When the optional UT-102 VOICE SYNTHESIZER UNIT is installed, you can select between English and Japanese as the language. SPCH SPD When the optional UT-102 VOICE SYNTHESIZER UNIT is installed, you can select between faster or slower synthesizer output. CIV ADDR To distinguish equipment, each CI-V transceiver/receiver has its own Icom standard address in hexadecimal code. The IC-R8500's address is 4AH. When 2 or more IC-R8500's are connected to an optional CT-17 CI-V LEVEL CONVERTER, rotate the main dial to select a different address for each IC- CIV BAUD This item sets the data transfer rate. When "AUTO" is selected, baud rate is automatically set according to the connected controller or other Icom CI-V radio. CIV TRAN Transceive operation is possible with the IC-R8500 connected to an Icom CI-V radio. When "ON" is selected, changing the frequency, operating mode, etc. on the IC-R8500 automatically changes those of connected radios and vice versa. CIV 731 When connecting the IC-R8500 to the IC-735 for transceive operation, you must change the operating frequency data length to 4 bytes. • This item must be set to "ON" only when operating transceive with the IC-735. ENG JPN Voice synthesizer functions Voice synthesizer functions in English (default). in Japanese. FAST Voice synthesizer output is faster (default). SLOW Voice synthesizer output is slower. 4AH 01H Address set to 4AH (default). Address set to 01H. R8500 in the range 01H to 7FH. AUTO Auto baud rate (default). ON Transceive ON (default). 19200 19200 bps OFF Transceive OFF. OFF Frequency data set to 5 bytes (default). ON Frequency data set to 4 bytes. 32
