2 BASIC OPERATION Turning ON the transceiver DDTurning ON the transceiver NOTE: Before using the transceiver for the first time, the battery pack must be fully charged for optimum life and operation. See the INSTRUCTIONS for details. Rotate [VOL] to turn ON the transceiver. [VOL] Selecting a channel DDSelecting an operating channel Rotate [Rotary Selector] to select an operating channel. Depending on the presetting, when the transceiver is turned ON, a scan automatically starts. The scan stops when a call is received. DDSelecting the Priority A or B channel Push [Prio A], [Prio A (Rewrite)], [Prior B], or [Prio B (Rewrite)] to select the Priority A or Priority B channel. DDRewriting the Priority A or B channel Hold down [Prio A (Rewrite)] or [Prio B (Rewrite)] for 1 second to set the currently selected channel as the Priority A or B channel. DDAdjusting the audio level When receiving a call, rotate [VOL] to adjust the audio output level. 2-2
