NS-55L260A13 Insignia 55" 1080p LCD TV Connecting headphones The TV speakers are muted when headphones are attached. Warning Loud noise can damage your hearing. When using headphones, use the lowest volume setting on your headphones that still lets you hear the sound. To connect headphones: • Connect the headphones to the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your TV. Side of TV Connecting a basic home theater system Note When you connect a home theater using digital audio, audio plays through both the home theater speakers and the TV speakers. If you do not want audio to play through the TV speakers, set the TV Speakers setting on the Audio menu to Off. For more information, see "Adjusting sound settings" on page 27. Using digital audio To connect a basic home theater system using digital audio: 1 Make sure that your TV's power cord is unplugged and the home theater system is turned off. 2 Connect a digital coaxial audio cable (not provided) to the DIGITAL OUTPUT jack on the back of your TV and to the coaxial AUDIO IN jack on the digital home theater system. Home theater system Digital coaxial audio cable Note You can also connect an amplifier, home theater system, or sound bar to the /AUDIO OUT jack. Connecting headphones
The TV speakers are muted when headphones are

To connect headphones:
Connect the headphones to the
/AUDIO OUT
jack on the side of your TV.
Connecting a basic home theater system
Using digital audio
To connect a basic home theater system using
digital audio:

Make sure that your TV’s power cord is
unplugged and the home theater system is
turned off.

Connect a digital coaxial audio cable (not
provided) to the
DIGITAL OUTPUT
jack on the
back of your TV and to the coaxial
AUDIO IN
jack on the digital home theater system.
