Hard Disk Drives The server system ships with six drive carriers for installing six SAS or Serial ATA (SATA) hot-swap drives. For instructions on installing hard drives, see "Installing and Removing a Hot-swap Hard Drive (SR2520SAX/SR2520SAXS and SR2520SAXR/SR2520SAXSR)" or "Installing and Removing a Fixed Hard Drive (SR2520SAF/SR2520SAFR)". Note: Drives can consume up to 17 watts of power each. Drives must be specified to run at a maximum ambient temperature of 45C. Note: The Intel® Server System SR2520SA does not support all SAS or Serial ATA (SATA) hard drives. See "Server System References" for an Internet link to a list of supported hardware. Rack-Mounted Systems Your Intel® Server System SR2520SA can be mounted into a rack. Intel provides three options to mount this server into a rack. When installing the chassis into a rack, Intel recommends you install systems from the bottom of the rack to the top. In other words, install the first system in the rack into the bottom position of the rack, the second system in the second position from the bottom, and so on. Instructions for installing your chassis into a rack are included in the rail kit. Intel® Server System SR2520SA User's Guide 19
