CONNECTION/INSTALLATION R Determining the antenna installation location • The direction of the film antenna (0) changes depending on whether it is installed on the right side or left side. • Be sure to check the installation location of the film antenna (0) before installing. The film antenna cannot be reattached. • Install the antenna at least 100 mm away from other antennas. • Do not attach the amplifier unit (-) to the ceramic line (black part) around the windscreen, as it will not stick sufficiently. Installing the antenna on the left side Ceramic line (black part) Earth sheet* 30 mm 150 mm * Attach the earth sheet of the amplifier unit (-) to the metal part of the front pillar. R Installing the Digital Radio antenna Caution When installing the antenna cable inside a front pillar that contains an air bag • The front pillar cover is secured with a special clip which may need to be replaced when it is removed. Contact your vehicle dealer for details on removing the front pillar cover and availability of replacement parts. Clip Front pillar cover • Install the amplifier unit (-) above the air bag so that it does not obstruct the operation of the air bag. 1 Remove the front pillar cover of your car. Front pillar cover 2 Clean the windscreen with the supplied cleaner (~). - Wait until the glass surface is completely dry before attaching. - If the glass surface is cold, e.g. in winter, warm it with the defroster or a hair dryer. 3 Remove the first sheet (tag 1) on the film antenna (0) horizontally and attach the antenna to the windscreen.
