Chapter 3 Putting Yourself in the Video The Self Timer creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the Shutter button and the time video recording begins. Self Timer button Self 1 Timer light Turn the Mode dial to Video , then press the Self Timer button. The Self Timer icon appears in the status area and blinks during the timer countdown. 2 Place the camera on a flat surface or use a tripod. 3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button completely down and release it. Move so that you are in the scene. 4 To stop recording, press the Shutter button again. ! The Self Timer light blinks slowly for 8 seconds (then quickly for 2 seconds) before the video begins recording. It stays on while recording. ! The Self Timer turns off after you take the video or if you change modes. ! To cancel the Self Timer countdown before the video is taken, press the Self Timer button. (The Self Timer setting remains active.) ! To turn off the Self Timer, press the Self Timer button twice. TIP: Want to be in the video without filming yourself walking in and out of the scene? Putting Yourself in the Video
The Self Timer creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the
Shutter button and the time video recording begins.

Turn the Mode dial to Video
, then press
the Self Timer
button.
The Self Timer icon
appears in the
status area and blinks during the timer
countdown.
