4. LG Network Storage Web Menu Use (for LG Network Storage administrators) Remove disk Forced removal of the hard disk without following the remove disk functions provided in this screen may cause future complications with system performance and loss of user's important data. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that user uses the remove disk button on the web when removing hard disks. In the case that "single disks" is being used, existing disks may be removed by following the below procedures. ① In the web, log in and open system → volume ② Press the "add/remove disk" button above the "change volume configuration". ③ Check the disk to be removed and push the "remove" button. Hot Swap This device allows the replacement of hard disks without turning off the system power. This option is only available when the volume configuration is set to RAID 1 or single disks. Using this option for other volume configuration types may cause to lose even the remaining hard disk data in the device. ① Remove the disk following the procedures set out in [Remove disk]. ② With the power turned on, insert the new hard disk in the device by referring to Chapter 2 LG Network Storage Installation. ③ Move to the webpage and select "add/remove HDD". ④ Select the hard disk currently inactive and press the "add" button. 59

Remove disk
Forced removal of the hard disk without following the remove disk functions provided in
this screen may cause future complications with system performance and loss of user’s
important data. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that user uses the remove disk
button on the web when removing hard disks.
In the case that “single disks” is being used, existing disks may be removed by
following the below procedures.
① In the web, log in and open system → volume
② Press the “add/remove disk” button above the “change volume configuration”.
③ Check the disk to be removed and push the “remove” button.
