I forgot my password. Do any of the following: • If you forget the BIOS user password, ask the system administrator to reset your user password. • If you forget your hard disk drive password, a Lenovo authorized servicer cannot reset your password or recover data from the hard disk drive. You must take your computer to a Lenovo authorized servicer or a marketing representative to have the hard disk drive replaced. If the computer still does not respond, remove the ac power adapter and the battery pack. • Your computer might lock when it enters sleep mode during a communication operation. Check the boot mode setting in the BIOS setup utility. If the Boot Mode is set to UEFI, make sure that the device or the medium in the device supports UEFI boot. If the device still does not appear in the boot device list, replace with a new device or medium. The connected external device does not work. Ensure that: • The external device is connected by USB cables while the computer is turned on; otherwise, your computer might be damaged. • When you are using a high-power-consumption external device such as an external USB optical drive, ensure that you use the power cable that comes with the external device.
