Solid amber The battery has between 5% and 20% charge. Fast blinking amber The battery has less than 5% charge. Slow blinking amber The battery is being charged. When battery charge reaches 20%, the blinking color changes to white. Slow blinking white The battery has between 20% and 80% charge and is still charging. When the battery reaches 80% charge the light will stop blinking, but charging will continue until the battery is fully charged. Off The battery is detached. Device access Blinking Data is being read from or written to the hard disk drive or other external storage devices. Wireless On Wireless (Bluetooth or wireless network card) is enabled. Off Wireless is disabled. 27

4. If the voltage is more than +11.0 V DC, measure the resistance between battery terminals 5 and 7. The resistance must be 4 to 30 KΩ.	24

Removing and replacing an FRU	34
1. Do not attempt to service any computer unless you have been trained and certified. An untrained person runs the risk of damaging parts.	34
2. Before replacing any FRU, review “FRU replacement notices” on page 29.	34
3. Begin by removing any FRUs that have to be removed before the failing FRU. Any of such FRUs are listed at the top of the page. Remove them in the order in which they are listed.	34
4. Follow the correct sequence in the steps to remove the FRU, as given in the figures by the numbers in square callouts.	34
5. When turning a screw to replace an FRU, turn it in the direction as given by the arrow in the figure.	34
6. When removing the FRU, move it in the direction as given by the arrow in the figure.	34
7. To put the new FRU in place, reverse the removal procedures and follow any of the notes that pertain to replacement. For information about connecting and arranging internal cables, see “Locations” on page 48.	34
8. When replacing an FRU, use the correct screw as shown in the procedures.	34
