Locating connectors on the rear of your computer Figure 2 "Rear connector locations" on page 9 shows the locations of the connectors on the rear of your computer. Some connectors on the rear of your computer are color-coded to help you determine where to connect the cables on your computer. Figure 2. Rear connector locations 1 Optical drive 5 Ethernet connector 2 Integrated cable lock slot 3 USB connectors (USB ports 3 to 6) 4 Power cord connector 6 Serial port 7 DisplayPort out connector 8 System stand Connector DisplayPort out connector Ethernet connector USB connector Serial port Description Used to attach a high-performance monitor, a direct-drive monitor, or other devices that use a DisplayPort connector. Used to attach an Ethernet cable for a local area network (LAN). Note: To operate the computer within FCC Class B limits, use a Category 5 Ethernet cable. Used to attach a device that requires a USB connector, such as a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, a USB scanner, or a USB printer. If you have more than six USB devices, you can purchase a USB hub, which you can use to connect additional USB devices.
