Chapter 2 Network Setup and Extender Connections Connecting your Extender to your home network and the Internet will enable you to access Online Services, and will also enable you to share your Vista Media Center computer's audio, video and picture files. Wireless Network The maximum performance for wireless is derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual performance can vary, including lower wireless network capacity, data throughput rate, range and coverage. Performance depends on many factors, conditions and variables, including distance from the access point, volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, operating system used, mix of wireless products used, interference and other adverse conditions. Attach the Antennas If connecting wirelessly, you need to attach the antennas. There are two (2) antennas for the DMA2100 and three (3) for the DMA2200. The antennas should be screwed on in a clockwise direction. Hand tighten until they are securely in place. The antennas should be raised when the Extender is in use.
