A specific setting may be required in some jurisdictions. See also 2.2 Protecting Your Hearing with SafeTone™. All four IntelliTone™ levels above zero meet and exceed de facto global protection levels and are compliant with NIOSH standards and EU health and safety codes of 85 dB(A). These are also compliant with Directive 2003/10/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 6 February 2003. Nickel release from the headband is 0.02 μg/cm2/week, which is well below the 0.50 μg/cm2/week limit established by EU Directive 94/27/EF.
