D Red-Eye Reduction Lenses that block the subject's view of the AF-assist illuminator may interfere with red-eye reduction. D AF-Assist Illumination The AF-assist illuminator can be used with lenses with focal lengths of 24- 200 mm. AF-assist illumination is not available with the following lenses: • AF-S VR 200mm f/2G ED • AF-S VR 200-400mm f/4G ED At ranges under 0.7m (2ft. 4in.), the following lenses may block the AF- assist illuminator and interfere with autofocus when lighting is poor: • AF Micro 200mm f/4D ED • AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED • AF-S VR 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED • AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED • AF Micro 70-180mm f/4.5-5.6D ED • AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8D ED • AF-S 17-35mm f/2.8D ED At ranges under 1.1m (3ft. 7in.), the following lenses may block the AF- assist illuminator and interfere with autofocus when lighting is poor: • AF-S DX VR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED At ranges under 1.5m (4ft. 11in.), the following lenses may block the AF- assist illuminator and interfere with autofocus when lighting is poor: • AF-S VR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED • AF-S VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED • AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8D ED • AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED • AF 80-200mm f/2.8D ED At ranges under 2.3m (7ft. 7in.), the following lenses may block the AF- assist illuminator and interfere with autofocus when lighting is poor: • AF VR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED n 375
