The Basics of Shooting and Playback 3 Plug the battery charger into an electrical outlet. • CHARGE lamp starts flashing when charging starts. About 1 hour and 30 minutes are required to charge a fully exhausted battery. • The battery is set incorrectly. Disconnect the battery charger from the electrical outlet, remove the battery, and then reset the battery to lie flat in the battery charger. • The ambient temperature is not suited to charging. Charge the battery indoors with an ambient temperature of 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F). • There is a problem with the battery. Immediately disconnect the battery charger from the electrical outlet, and stop charging. Take the battery and battery charger to your retailer or Nikon-authorized service representative. 4 When charging is complete, remove the battery and then disconnect the battery charger from the electrical outlet. 21
