4 Choose the number of intervals and number of shots per interval. Press 4 or 2 to highlight number of intervals or number of shots; press 1 or 3 to change. Press 2 to continue. Number of Number Total intervals of shots/ number of interval shots 5 Start shooting. Highlight On and press J (to return to the shooting menu without starting the interval timer, highlight Off and press J). The first series of shots will be taken at the specified starting time, or after about 3 s if Now was selected for Choose start time in Step 2. Shooting will continue at the selected interval until all shots have been taken. Note that because the shutter speed, frame rate, and time needed to record images may vary from one interval to the next, the time between the end of one interval and the beginning of the next may vary. If shooting can not proceed at current settings (for example, if a shutter speed of Bulb (A) or Time (%) is currently selected in shooting mode M or the start time is in less than a minute), a warning will be displayed in the monitor. t D Out of Memory If the memory card is full, the interval timer will remain active but no pictures will be taken. Resume shooting (0 148) after deleting some pictures or turning the camera off and inserting another memory card. A Cover the Viewfinder To prevent light entering via the viewfinder interfering with exposure, remove the rubber eyecup and cover the viewfinder with the supplied DK-5 eyepiece cap (0 60). 146
