Messages 5 Messages If you have subscribed to a message network service, you can send messages to and receive messages from compatible phones that are also subscribed to compatible message services. You can also send and receive picture messages and multimedia messages, if supported by your service provider. To send and receive messages, you need a messaging service through your service provider, and a message center number saved in your phone. See "Text entry" on page 25 for more information. Note: When sending messages, your device may display Message Sent. This is an indication that the message has been sent by your device to the message center number programmed into your device. This is not an indication that the message has been received at the intended destination. For more details about messaging services, check with your service provider. Important: Exercise caution when opening messages. Messages may contain malicious software or otherwise be harmful to your device or PC. • Linked messages Your phone can send and receive long text messages. Long text messages are automatically split into multiple messages and sent as a series. For this feature to work properly, the receiving phone must also support linked messages. While you write a message, the number of available characters and the current part number of linked message (for example, 120/2) are shown. While receiving linked messages, you can start reading the first part before the phone has received the entire message. If you may see *some text missing* on the display, the message content will be updated as soon as the missing sequence arrives. If the memory is full, you may have to delete a message from your inbox or outbox before your phone can update the missing text. See "Delete messages" on page 30 for more information. • Font size Select Menu > Messages > Message settings > Other settings > Font size > Small font or Large font. Messages
If you have subscribed to a message network service, you can send
