Making/Answering Calls Using the Handset Handset clarity booster This feature can improve sound clarity when the handset is used in an area where there may be interference. During an outside call, this feature is turned on automatically when necessary. Handset noise reduction This feature allows you to hear the voice of the person you are talking to clearly, by reducing the surrounding noise coming from the other party's telephone. Press MNOISE REDUCTIONN to turn on/off while talking. Note: R Depending on the environment where this handset is being used, this feature may not be effective. R This feature is not available using the speakerphone. R When both the "Equalizer" setting and noise reduction are activated, is shown on the display. Handset equalizer This feature clarifies the voice of the person you are talking to, producing a more natural-sounding voice that is easier to hear and understand. 1 Press MMENUN while talking. 2 MbN: "Equalizer" a MSELECTN 3 MbN: Select the desired setting. 4 Press MOKN to exit. Note: R Depending on the condition and quality of your telephone line, this feature may emphasize existing line noise. If it becomes difficult to hear, turn this feature off. R This feature is not available while using the speakerphone. Call share You can join an existing outside call. n While another unit is on a cellular call: 1 To join the conversation, press MCELLN. R You can join the conversation when: - only 1 cellular phone is paired. 24 - a specific line is set to make cellular calls (page 20). 2 MbN: Select the corresponding cellular phone. a MSELECTN n While another unit is on a landline call: To join the conversation, press ML1N or ML2N to select the line that is being used by another extension for an outside call. Note: R A maximum of 3 parties (including 1 outside party) can join a conversation. (3-way conference) R To prevent other users from joining your conversations with outside callers, turn privacy mode on (page 42). Transferring calls Outside calls can be transferred between 2 people. 1 During an outside call, press MMENUN to put the call on hold. 2 MbN: "Intercom" a MSELECTN 3 MbN: Select the desired unit. a MSELECTN 4 Wait for the paged party to answer. R If the paged party does not answer, press MBACKN to return to the outside call. 5 Press MOFFN. Conference landline calls 3 people can establish a conference call. Conference call with 2 outside calls While you are talking with an outside caller, you can make or answer a 2nd call on the other line, and then combine the calls to establish a conference call. 1 During an outside call, press MMENUN to put the call on hold. 2 MbN: "Hold" a MSELECTN 3 To make a 2nd call: Press ML1N or ML2N, then dial the phone number. To answer a 2nd call: Press ML1N or ML2N. 4 When the 2nd call is connected, press MMENUN. a MbN: "Conference" a MSELECTN R The 2 calls are combined.
