Messages Messages such as the following may appear on the LCD monitor during camera operation. Message Description Battery depleted The battery is exhausted. Charge the battery using the battery charger. (p.22) Memory card full The SD Memory Card is full and no more images can be saved. Insert a new SD Memory Card or delete unwanted images. (p.26, p.127) Change the quality level or recorded pixels of recorded images and try again. (p.135) Memory card error Shooting and playback are impossible due to a problem with the SD Memory Card. You may be able to display or copy the images on the card using a PC. Card not formatted The SD Memory Card you have inserted is unformatted or has been formatted on a computer or other device and is not compatible with this camera. (p.163) Card locked The SD Memory Card is write-protected. (p.28) Compression error This message occurs when the camera fails to compress an image. Change the quality level or recorded pixels of the image and try shooting or saving it again. No image/sound There are no image/sound files on the SD Memory Card. This message appears when the internal temperature of the Movie recording stopped camera has exceeded normal operating limits while recording a movie. Deleting This message appears when deleting an image or sound file. Camera cannot play this image and sound You are trying to play back an image or sound in a format not supported by this camera. You may be able to play it back on another brand of camera or on your computer. 9 The largest file number (9999) has been assigned to an Image folder could not image in the largest folder number (999) and no more be created images can be saved. Insert a new SD Memory Card or format the card. (p.163) Protected The image or sound file you are trying to delete is protected. Open the lens cover Displayed if you press the shutter release button halfway/ fully or the playback button to switch to the capture mode when the camera is turned on but the lens cover is closed.
