Simply point the camera toward your subject's face and the camera automatically recognizes the location of the subject's face, adjusts the focus (using Face Recognition AF) and the exposure (using Face Recognition AE) and allows you to take a picture. z Use this mode when you want to enhance the natural skin tone of the people in your pictures. e Use this mode when taking pictures of people. 1 Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode. The Capture Mode Palette appears. 2 Use the four-way controller (2345) to select d (Natural Skin Tone) or c (Portrait). 3 Press the 4 button. The shooting mode is selected and the Natural Skin Tone camera returns to capture status. Portrait When the location of the subject's face is recognized, a yellow focus frame appears on the LCD monitor at the location of the face (when multiple faces are recognized, MENU Cancel OK OK the main face is indicated in yellow). As the subject moves, the size and location of the focus frame change to match the location of the subject's face. 4 Press the shutter release button halfway. The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns green if the subject is in focus. 5 Press the shutter release button fully. The picture is taken. 68
