Red-Eye Reduction Mode (Fig. 8) When taking pictures of people's faces under dim light, using flash, reflection of flash on the retina, sometimes called "Red-Eye" may result. This mode reduces "Red-Eye" phenomenon because the flash lamp flashes after the "Red-Eye" reduction LED makes the pupils of the eyes smaller. 1. Press the Mode Button to make the (') symbol is displayed on LCD. 2. If the shutter operates when the camera is pointed towards a person, the "Redeye" reduction lamp lights about 0.7 seconds, and then the flash operates and the shot is taken. • The flash will not fire in bright conditions. Flash ON Mode Daylight flash photography is effective for back-lit subjects, strong shadows, or on cloudy days. It lets you take more natural looking pictures by softening harsh shadows. 1. Press the Mode Button to make the ( ) symbol is displayed on LCD. 2. Press the Release Button. There will now be flash every time the shutter is tripped. 16
