59 BASIC OPERATION (PREPARATION) BASIC OPERATION (SHOOTING) Remote Control Shooting The shutter will be released 3 seconds after the optional remote control's shutter release button is pressed. 1 Mount the camera to a tripod. • If you use a large tripod, be sure to install the supplied auxiliary tripod plate between the camera and pan/tilt tripod head, otherwise the pan/tilt tripod head may contact the lens. 2 Press the drive mode button until appears on the LCD panel. Confirm that the subject is in focus by pressing the shutter release button halfway down. • Remote control operation does not activate focusing with the default setting. Use custom function number [CF14] to focus automatically with remote control operation. See pages 134 and 141. 3 Press the shutter release button on the remote control toward the camera. Remote Control Shooting
The shutter will be released 3 seconds after the optional remote
control

Mount the camera to a tripod.
If you use a large tripod, be sure to install
the supplied auxiliary tripod plate between
the camera and pan/tilt tripod head,
otherwise the pan/tilt tripod head may
contact the lens.

Press the drive mode button
until
appears on the LCD
panel.
Confirm that the subject is in
focus by pressing the shutter
release button halfway down.
Remote control operation does not activate
focusing with the default setting. Use custom

automatically with remote control operation.
