BPM MODE AUTO: performs automatic measurement from the input music signal. MIDI: measures BPM from the MIDI signal (timing clock) input to the MIDI IN terminal TAP: allows manual BPM input when the TAP button is tapped with the fingers. Manual BPM input using the TAP button When the TAP button is tapped two or more times in time with the beat (quarter notes), the average value of the intervals is used to set BPM. TAP / SHIFT Manual BPM input using the TIME dial BPM can be directly set by turning the TIME dial when the TAP button is held down. ¶ BPM can be set in 0.1 increments by pressing the BPM MODE button and turning the TIME dial while holding down the TAP button. Only decimal values are shown at this time. Example: 120.4 TIME/ BPM ¶ The selected BPM measurement mode indicator lights. ¶ The BPM COUNTER flashes when BPM measurement cannot be made. ¶ The BPM measurement range is 70 to 180 in the AUTO mode. It may not be possible to measure some tunes correctly. Should this happen, use the TAP mode to make a manual input. ¶ The BPM measurement range is 40 to 250 in the MIDI mode. ¶ Pressing the TAP button in BPM AUTO or MIDI mode changes the mode to the TAP mode. ¶ When BPM is set with the TAP button, the Beat Effect Select button 1/1 is selected and the time of 1 beat (quarter notes) is set to the effect time. 14 En
