11 Enjoying through External Equipment Watching a D-VHS image What is i.LINK? i.LINK is a digital serial interface for handling digital video, digital audio, and other data in two directions. i.LINK is Sony's term for the IEEE 1394 data transport bus. Digital AV equipment compatible with i.LINK can be connected using a single i.LINK cable. The i.LINK interface allows this PDP system to control one of up to two i.LINK compatible devices (in connection) that can be identified. Which i.LINK devices are connectable? For i.LINK devices, this system supports only D-VHS recorders. The i.LINK terminals on this system cannot be connected with other equipment such as DVD recorders, digital video cameras, personal computers, and PC peripheral devices because of differences in the specifications. What can be recorded through i.LINK? With D-VHS recorders connected to this system through i.LINK, you can record only digital TV programs. You cannot record conventional TV channels nor contents coming from external input sources and personal computers. Connecting D-VHS recorders Use the i.LINK terminals when connecting D-VHS recorders.
