11. Appendix Moving and Transporting the Printer • Before moving the machine, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. If the cord is unplugged abruptly, it could become damaged. Damaged plugs or cords can cause an electrical or fire hazard. • When moving the machine, hold the handles at both sides, and then lift the printer slowly. Lifting it carelessly or dropping it may cause an injury. • Disconnect the power plug (by pulling the plug, not the cable) if the power cable or plug becomes frayed or otherwise damaged. • When moving the printer after use, do not take out any of the toners, photo conductor units, nor waste toner bottle to prevent toner spill inside the machine. Repack the printer using its original packaging for transporting. • The printer weighs approximately 95 kg (209 lb.). • Be sure to disconnect all cables from the printer before transporting it. • The printer is a piece of precision machinery. Take care to avoid damage during transportation. • If optional paper feed units are attached, remove them from the printer and move them separately.
