Playback This section introduces basic playback functions and playback by disc type. Before Playing Read the following information before playing a disc. Region code (DVD-Video only) Both the DVD recorder and the discs are coded by region. These regional codes must match in order for the disc to play. If the codes do not match, the disc will not play.
