Symptom Vertical streaks appear when you are shooting a very bright subject. You cannot shoot images. Cannot record images with the flash. The eyes of the subject come out red. The date and time are recorded incorrectly. Cause • The smear phenomenon is occurring. • No "Memory Stick" has been inserted. • The "Memory Stick" is full. • The write-protect tab on the "Memory Stick" is set to the LOCK position. • You cannot shoot while the flash is charging. • The mode dial is not set to or SCN while shooting a still picture. • The mode dial is not set to when shooting a moving picture. • The mode dial is set to , SET UP, or . • The flash is set to (No flash). • When recording still images, Scene Selection is set to Night Scene mode. - • The date and time are not set correctly.
