To execute FTP commands, use of application software, such as Catalyst Browse, is recommended.
ˎ
The commands supported by application software vary.
ˎ
An FTP client software that supports UTF-8 is required to use file names containing Unicode characters other than ASCII
characters. Command prompt FTP commands do not support UTF-8. If this occurs, use of application software, such as
Catalyst Browse, is recommended.
ˎ
XAVC QFHD Long 150 format clips cannot be transferred to this unit.
Standard commands
In the command syntax, <SP> represents a space, entered by pressing the space bar, and <CRLF>
represents a new line, entered by pressing the Enter key.
USER
Authenticates a user name.
Syntax: USER <SP> <user name> <CRLF>

Input example:
PORT 10,0,0,1,242,48
(IP address: 10.0.0.1,
Port number: 62000)
PASV
Requests the unit to “listen” on data ports other than the default data connection port. (Sets the unit to
passive mode, waiting for a data connection from the computer.)
Syntax: PASV <CRLF>
TYPE
Specifies the data type.
Syntax: TYPE <SP> <type code (options delimited by <SP>)> <CRLF>
The following type codes are supported. However, for the PZW-4000, data is always transferred as type “I”,
regardless of the type code specified.
