3 Function buttons The function changes according to the mode of the remote. AV SYSTEM 1/2: Press to select the source of the receiver. 2ND ROOM: Press to select the source you want to output from the 2ND ROOM jacks. 3RD ROOM: Press to select the source you want to output from the 3RD ROOM jacks. Press one of the buttons to select the component you want to use. When you press any of the function buttons, the receiver turns on. The components are factory assigned to the buttons as follows. When you want to assign other components, program the remote following the steps in "Changing the button assignments". Button VIDEO1 Assigned component VCR (VTR mode 3) VIDEO2 VCR (VTR mode 1) VIDEO3 VCR (VTR mode 2) DVD/LD DVD player TV/SAT TV tuner TAPE Tape deck B MD/DAT MD deck CD/SACD TUNER LD2) AUX2) CD/Super Audio CD player Built-in tuner1) LD player - SOURCE 2ND ROOM, 3RD ROOM only 1) The setting cannot be changed. 2) LD and AUX do not operate this unit (STR-DA7ES/STR-DA4ES). 4 SHIFT button When the tuner is selected, press repeatedly to select a memory page for presetting radio stations or tuning to preset stations. 5 MUTING button The function of this button is same as the MUTING button on the receiver. See page 27. 6 MASTER VOL +/- buttons Press to adjust the volume level of all speakers at the same time. 7 ANALOG DIRECT button The function of this button is same as the ANALOG DIRECT button on the receiver. See page 34. Operations Using the Remote (STR-DA7ES only) 8 MODE +/- buttons The function of these buttons is same as the MODE +/- buttons on the receiver. See pages 36-37. 9 PRESET button Press to select CINEMA STUDIO EX A-C or D.CONCERT HALL A, B. 0 SOUND FIELD AUTO DEC/2CH ST buttons The function of these buttons is same as the AUTO DEC and 2CH STEREO buttons on the receiver. See page 34. qa CH/PRESET/D.SKIP/+/- buttons* Press repeatedly to select a preset station or channel. When using a multi-disc changer, press to skip a disc. qs Operation buttons* The following table describes the function of the buttons. Button(s) N n X x ./> m/M Function Starts play. (Starts play on the front side of the cassette.) Starts play on the reverse side of the cassette. Pauses play or recording, and starts recording when the component is in recording standby.
