233BA010 KN 249BA061 KN 249BA013 KN English Lubricating the Gearbox 1 2 Replacing the Starter Rope and Rewind Spring Replacing the Starter Rope 3 4 5 N Check lubricant filling periodically and after approx. every 25 hours of operation N Unscrew the locking screw (1) - if no grease can be seen on the inside, then screw in the tube (2) of STIHL gear lubricant for brushcutters (special accessory) N Squeeze up to 1/5 oz (5 g) of grease into the gear housing Do not completely fill the gear housing with grease. N Unscrew lubricant tube (2) N Refit locking screw and tighten securely 1 1 2 1 N Push the slide control in direction of arrow h - to STOP-0. N Take out the screws (1). N Remove the starter cover (2) from the housing. N Ease the spring clip (3) off the starter post. N Remove the rope rotor with washer (4) and pawl (5). Check lubricant filling periodically

Unscrew the locking screw (1) – if

Do not completely fill the gear housing
with grease.

Unscrew lubricant tube (2)

Refit locking screw and tighten
securely
Replacing the Starter Rope

Take out the screws (1).

Remove the starter cover (2) from
the housing.

Ease the spring clip (3) off the
starter post.

Remove the rope rotor with
washer (4) and pawl (5).

Remove the remaining rope from
the rotor and starter grip.
