Appendix A: System Routines - Keyboard 639 GKeyIn Declaration: Category(ies): Description: Inputs: Outputs: Assumptions: Side Effects: Availability: WORD GKeyIn (SCR_RECT * rBlink, WORD Flags) Keyboard Wait for and return the next keypress (bypassing the event manager). rBlink - If not null, this is the rectangular region that defines the cursor that will be "blinked" (by XORing a reverse/normal video rectangle) while waiting on a key. If it is NULL then there is no cursor. Flags - GKF_NORMAL - No special key processing. GKF_MODAL If the key pressed is a "modal" key (®, O, ¥-O, 2-O, 3, °, ¯, K, or any of the built-in app keys then N is returned and the key is repushed onto the keyboard buffer. Note that DIALOG boxes usually set GKF_MODAL and GKF_SYS so that if a user presses ° in the dialog box, the dialog box is closed and then the ° key is acted on (though there is a flag to allow ° to be activated on inside a dialog box). GKF_SYS - Same as GKF_MODAL only for "system" keys: I GKF_REPUSH_KEY - Whatever key is pressed, return it and repush that key onto the keyboard buffer. GKF_NO_EVS - Ignore ½ key. Keypressed. Apps should use the event manager to process keys. GKeyIn is only used in special cases where the event manager is not accessible. By-passes the event manager's handling of keys so this routine should be used with caution. All versions of the TI-89 / TI-92 Plus.
