Getting Started To place your device in Sleep mode 41 To place your device in Sleep mode 1 Swipe in from the right edge of the screen. 2 When the Windows charms appear, tap/touch the Settings ( ) charm. If you power down using the Sleep command and the battery discharges fully, your unsaved information will be lost. Be sure to save your work first. 3 In the lower right of the screen tap/touch the Power ( ) icon. Sleep option (Sample Image) Sleep 4 Tap/touch the Sleep option. Sleep mode saves the current state of the device to memory so that, when you restart the device, you can continue working from where you left off. NOTE It is recommended that you do not tap/touch the screen while powering ON or placing the device into Sleep mode, as the functionality may be affected. Adding optional external devices NOTE Before adding external devices, Toshiba recommends setting up your software. See "Setting up your software" on page 39. After starting your device for the first time you may want to: ❖ Connect external devices (see "Connecting an external device" on page 53) ❖ Connect an external monitor (see "Using external display devices" on page 53)
