ENGLISH About MIDI MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a standard format for data transmission/reception. It enables the transfer of performance data and commands between MIDI devices and personal computers. Using MIDI, you can control a connected MIDI device from the Clavinova, or control the Clavinova from a connected MIDI device or computer. MIDI connectors MIDI Mac MIDI PC-1 PC-2 HOST SELECT THRU OUT IN (CLP-130) MIDI [IN]: Receives MIDI data. MIDI [OUT]: Transmits MIDI data. MIDI [THRU]: Transmits data received at the MIDI [IN] connector as it is. MIDI cables Prepare dedicated MIDI cables. [TO HOST] connector Use this connector to connect the Clavinova to a computer. Mac MIDI PC-1 PC-2 TO HOST HOST SELECT TIP MIDI performance data and commands are transferred in the form of numeric values. TIP Since MIDI data that can be transmitted or received varies depending on the type of MIDI device, check the "MIDI Implementation Chart" to find out what MIDI data and commands your devices can transmit or receive. The Clavinova's MIDI Implementation Chart appears on page 75. NOTE When you are using the MIDI connectors, set the [HOST SELECT] switch to "MIDI" (page 54). NOTE When you are using the [TO HOST] connector, set the [HOST SELECT] switch, according to the type of computer you are using (page 54).
