Using MMC (MIDI Machine Control) 179 Supported MMC Commands The D24 supports the following MMC commands. Command Stop Play Play Fast Forward Rewind Record Strobe Record Exit MMC Reset Eject Write Locate REC Mode Track Record Ready MMC # Description 01 The D24 stops recording, rehearsal, playback, rewind, or fast forward. 02 The D24 starts playback. This command is ignored during recording or rehearsal. The D24 locates to the specified timecode 03 address, and then starts playback. This com- mand is ignored during recording or rehearsal. The D24 fast forwards. If this command is 04 received during recording or rehearsal, the D24 stops recording or rehearsal and fast for- wards. The D24 rewinds. If this command is received 05 during recording or rehearsal, the D24 stops recording or rehearsal and rewinds. 06 If the D24 is stopped, it starts recording. If it's playing, it punches in. 07 The D24 stops recording. 0D The D24 resets its MMC functions to their initial values. OA Ejects the disk. 40 The D24 writes the data to the specified information field. 44 The D24 locates to the timecode address stored in the specified information field. Information field 4C Toggles the D24 between Rehearsal and Record. Information field 4F Selects tracks for recording. Setting the MMC Device Number When MMC is used with several MIDI devices, each must be assigned an exclusive identity number, so that only the intended device responds to the transmitted commands. 1 Press the [UTILITY] button. The UTILITY indicator lights up. 2 Use the JOG/DATA dial to select "MMC DEVICE," and then press the [ENTER] button. The current MMC Device setting appears on the display. 3 Use the JOG/DATA dial to select a device number from 1 through 127. The default setting is 1. 4 Press the [ENTER] button to activate your selection, or the [CANCEL] button to cancel the MMC Device function. 5 Press the [UTILITY] button again to leave utility. Supported MMC Commands
The D24 supports the following MMC commands.
Setting the MMC Device Number
When MMC is used with several MIDI devices, each must be assigned an exclusive
identity number, so that only the intended device responds to the transmitted com-
mands.

Press the [UTILITY] button.
The UTILITY indicator lights up.

Use the JOG/DATA dial to select
MMC DEVICE,
and then press the [ENTER]
button.
The current MMC Device setting appears on the display.
