Climate Controls There is also an exterior temperature sensor located behind the front grille. This sensor reads the outside air temperature and helps maintain the temperature inside the vehicle. Any cover on the front of the vehicle could cause a false reading in the displayed temperature. The climate control system uses the information from these sensors to maintain your comfort setting by adjusting the outlet temperature, fan speed, and the air delivery mode. The system may also supply cooler air to the side of the vehicle facing the sun. The recirculation mode will also be used as needed to maintain cool outlet temperatures. 8-9 Rear Climate Control System (Rear Climate Control Only) For vehicles with this system, the rear controls are three knobs located in the headliner. The system can also be controlled with the front controls. A. Fan Control B. Temperature Control C. Air Delivery Mode Control REAR: Press the REAR button on the front climate control system to turn the rear climate control system on or off. An indicator comes on when the rear system is on. See Climate Control Systems on page 8‑1 or Dual Automatic Climate Control System on page 8‑3. The rear system can also be turned off by turning the rear fan knob to the 9 position.
