When in AUTO and weather conditions require heat, air will be sent to the floor. But a feature is included in your EATC to prevent blowing cold air to the floor if the engine coolant is not warm enough to allow heating. The EATC will direct the airflow to the windshield at low fan speed. In 3-1/2 minutes or less, the fan speed will start to increase and the airflow will change to the floor area. When in AUTO and weather conditions require cooling, the EATC will use outside air or recirculated air, depending on the temperature that is selected. If unusual conditions exist (i.e., window fogging, etc.), the six manual override buttons allow you to select special air discharge locations. The fan speed button allows you to adjust the fan speed to suit your needs. Temperature selection The TEMP button at the upper left of the Control is for temperature selection. The a side of the TEMP button will increase the set temperature and the b side of the TEMP button will lower the set temperature. Pressing the button and releasing it will change the set temperature one degree. Holding either side of the button in will rapidly change the temperature setting in one degree increments to either 65˚F (18˚C) or 85˚F (29˚C). Then, the set temperature will jump 5˚F (3˚C) and stop at either 60˚F (16˚C) which is maximum cooling or 90˚F (32˚C) which is maximum heating. The average temperature range used is between 68˚F (20˚C) and 78˚F (26˚C). Changing the temperature setting by several degrees outside this range or overriding to 60˚ or 90˚F (16˚ or 32˚C) as described above will not speed up the heating or cooling process. 99
