Automatic Door Lock/Unlock All of the doors will automatically lock when all doors are closed, the engine is running and the shift lever is shifted out of PARK (P). All of the doors will automatically unlock when the shift lever is shifted into PARK (P). With the automatic door lock feature, you can still lock or unlock the doors at any time, either manually, with the power door lock switches or by pressing the LOCK or UNLOCK buttons on the optional remote keyless entry transmitter. See "Remote Keyless Entry" in the Index for more information. To program the automatic door lock feature, see "Vehicle Customization" in the Index. If your vehicle is equipped with the Driver Information Center (DIC), see "Driver Information Center" in the Index. Rear Door Child Security Locks You vehicle is equipped with rear door security locks that help prevent passengers from opening the rear doors of your vehicle from the inside. To use one of these locks: 1. Open one of the rear doors. 2. On the inside of the rear door will be a lock. Press the lever up to engage the safety lock. 3. Close the door. 4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the other rear door lock. The rear doors on your vehicle cannot be opened from inside the vehicle when this feature is in use. If you want to open a rear door when the security lock is on, unlock the door from the inside and then open the door from the outside. 2-8
