2.2.8 Internal connectors 1. ��A��M�D��S�B��9�5�0�S��e�ri�a�l�A�T�A��c�o�n�n�e�c�t�o�r�s�(�7�-�p�in��S�A�T�A��6�G�_�1�-�6�) These connectors are for the Serial ATA signal cables for Serial ATA hard disk drives and optical disc drives. If you installed Serial ATA hard disk drives, you can create a RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configuration with the onboard AMD® SB950 RAID controllers. AMD • These connectors are set to AHCI mode by default. In AHCI mode, you can connect Serial ATA boot/data hard disk drives to these connectors. If you intend to create a Serial ATA RAID set using these connectors, set the SATA Port1-4 item in the BIOS to [RAID]. See section 3.5.3 Storage Configuration for details. • Before creating a RAID set, refer to section 4.4 RAID configurations or the manual bundled in the motherboard support DVD. • You must install Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or later versions before using Serial ATA hard disk drives. The Serial ATA RAID feature is available only if you are using Windows® XP SP2 or later versions. • When using hot-plug and NCQ, set the SATA Port1-4 in the BIOS to [AHCI]. These connectors are for the Serial ATA signal cables for Serial ATA hard disk
drives and optical disc drives.
If you installed Serial ATA hard disk drives, you can create a RAID 0, 1, 5,
and 10 configuration with the onboard AMD
®
SB950 RAID controllers.
These connectors are set to AHCI mode by default. In AHCI mode, you
can connect Serial ATA boot/data hard disk drives to these connectors.
