UTILITY STITCHES ■ Sewing buttonholes on stretch fabrics Available on models with the following stitches. Use a handsewing needle to pull the gimp h thread to the wrong side of the fabric, and then tie it. When sewing buttonholes on stretch fabrics, use a gimp thread. Hook the gimp thread onto the part of a buttonhole foot "A" shown in the illustration. It fits into the grooves, and then loosely b tie it. Attach buttonhole foot "A". c Select a stitch. d * Stitches may differ depending on the model. Check stitch selections on the machine's body, and then select the stitch number. Adjust the stitch width to the thickness of e the gimp thread. Lower the presser foot lever and the f buttonhole lever, and then start sewing. When sewing is finished, gently pull the g gimp thread to remove any slack. 26
