Replacing the Date Battery

Page 146 highlights

Replacing the Date Battery If the Set Date/Time menu appears when you turn on the camera power, the date battery charge is low and the date and time settings have been lost. Please replace the battery with a commercially available lithium coin battery (CR1220) with the following procedures. Please note that the first date battery may appear to expire relatively quickly after you purchase the camera. This is because it is installed in the camera at the point of manufacture, not when you make the purchase. Warning Be particularly careful to keep the date batteries out of the reach of children. Seek medical assistance immediately if a child swallows a battery since corrosive battery fluids could damage the stomach or intestinal wall. 1 Turn off the power and slide the battery cover in the direction of the arrows. 2 Remove the AA-size batteries, then pull out the battery holder by hooking your fingertip under the bottom of the battery holder edge. 3 Remove the old date battery and place a new date battery into the date battery holder with the positive terminal (+) facing upward. 4 Replace the date battery holder, replace the AA-size batteries and close the battery cover. 144 Appendix
