Symptom I cannot insert a disc into the printer. Possible Cause A tape cartridge is loaded in the printer. Printing will not start. The disc is not positioned correctly in the printer. Recommended Action A disc cannot be inserted into the printer while a tape cartridge is loaded. Remove the tape cartridge and replace it with an ink ribbon cassette. (Startup Guide, page 11) Remove the disc and then reinsert it straight into the left side of the slit along the top of the printer. (Startup Guide, page 20) TAPE Mode Symptom Possible Cause The printing operation is finished normally, but nothing is printed. The tape is used up. Printing is not clear. Printing is poor quality. Printing is too light. The tape cartridge is not loaded properly. The print density setting is too light. No tape comes out when I press PRINT. The cassette cover is not closed completely. The tape is used up. The tape is jammed. Recommended Action Replace the tape cartridge with a new one. Re-load the tape cartridge properly. Adjust the print density to make it darker. Close the cassette cover. (Startup Guide, page 5) Replace the tape cartridge with a new one. (Startup Guide, page 13) Remove the tape cartridge and pull out the jammed tape. Use scissors to cut off the tape you pulled out. Load the tape cartridge back into the printer. (Startup Guide, page 13) Important! Note the following while printing is in progress. • Do not allow the tape outlet to become blocked. • Do not touch the tape coming out of the printer. • Do not open the cassette cover. • Do not turn off the printer. 61 E
