Modem module Description For use in all countries and regions except Australia and New Zealand For use only in Australia and New Zealand Spare part number 461749-001 461749-011 Before removing the modem module, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 50). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 59) c. Switch cover and keyboard (see Switch cover and keyboard on page 61) d. Speakers (see Speakers on page 66) e. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 67) f. Top cover (see Top cover on page 74) g. System board (see System board on page 83) Remove the modem module: 1. Turn the system board upside down, with the audio connectors toward you. 2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (1) that secure the modem module to the system board. 3. Before removing the modem module, follow these steps:

Remove the modem module:
1.
Turn the system board upside down, with the audio connectors toward you.
2.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws
