7-14 Compaq Parallel Database Cluster Model PDC/O1000 for Oracle8i and Windows 2000 Administrator Guide A Cluster Node Cannot Connect to the Shared Drives I Verify that a physical connection exists between each Fibre Host Adapter and its Fibre Channel SAN Switch, FC-AL Switch, or Storage Hub. G Verify that a GBIC-SW module is properly installed in each Fibre Host Adapter, all active ports on each Fibre Channel SAN Switch, FC-AL Switch, or Storage Hub, and each RA4000 Array Controller. G Verify that all Fibre Channel cables are properly connected to their GBIC-SW modules. I Verify all nodes can access the shared storage in the RA4000/RA4100 Arrays. On each node, start Disk Management to verify that the same shared disk resources are seen from every node in the cluster. I The shared storage components must be powered on before the servers. If any cluster node was powered on before the Fibre Channel SAN Switches, FC-AL Switches, Storage Hubs, or the RA4000/RA4100 Arrays, shut down the node and restart. I If the node is still unable to connect to the RA4000/RA4100 Arrays, refer to Appendix A, "Diagnosing and Resolving Shared Disk Problems."

Compaq Parallel Database Cluster Model PDC/O1000 for Oracle8i and Windows 2000 Administrator Guide
A Cluster Node Cannot Connect to the Shared
Drives
Verify that a physical connection exists between each Fibre Host
Adapter and its Fibre Channel SAN Switch, FC-AL Switch, or
Storage Hub.
G
Verify that a GBIC-SW module is properly installed in each Fibre
Host Adapter, all active ports on each Fibre Channel SAN Switch,
FC-AL Switch, or Storage Hub, and each RA4000 Array Controller.
G
Verify that all Fibre Channel cables are properly connected to their
GBIC-SW modules.
Verify all nodes can access the shared storage in the RA4000/RA4100
Arrays. On each node, start Disk Management to verify that the same
shared disk resources are seen from every node in the cluster.
The shared storage components must be powered on before the servers.
If any cluster node was powered on before the Fibre Channel SAN
Switches, FC-AL Switches, Storage Hubs, or the RA4000/RA4100
Arrays, shut down the node and restart.
If the node is still unable to connect to the RA4000/RA4100 Arrays,
refer to Appendix A, “Diagnosing and Resolving Shared Disk
Problems.”
