Remove the system board assembly. 2. Lay the system board assembly on a flat work surface. 3. Remove the microprocessor module(s) 4. Remove the terminator board, if any. 5. Remove the microprocessor retention brackets. 6. Slide the system board toward the front of the computer to disengage the system-board mounting hooks. 7. Lift the system board out of the system-board mounting bracket. If you are replacing the system board, remove the DIMMs, microprocessor module(s), temperature sensor cable, terminator board, and retention brackets, and install them on the replacement board. System Board Removal
To remove the system board, follow these steps:
1.
Remove the system board assembly.
2.
Lay the system board assembly on a flat work surface.
3.
Remove the microprocessor module(s)
4.
Remove the terminator board, if any.
5.
Remove the microprocessor retention brackets.
6.
Slide the system board toward the front of the computer to disengage
the system-board mounting hooks.
7.
Lift the system board out of the system-board mounting bracket.
If you are replacing the system board, remove the DIMMs, microprocessor
module(s), temperature sensor cable, terminator board, and retention brackets,
and install them on the replacement board. Verify that the jumper settings on the
new system board are correct.
