NOTICE: Before disconnecting a device from the computer or removing a component from the system board, verify that the standby power light on the system board has turned off. To locate this light, see "System Board Components." 1 Turn off the computer and devices, disconnect them from their electrical outlets, wait at least 10 to 20 seconds, lay the computer on its right side, and open the computer cover. 2 Remove the microprocessor airflow shroud. 3 Disconnect the fan power cable from its connector on the system board. To locate this connector, see "System Board Components." NOTE: There are two microprocessor cooling fans (FAN_P0 and FAN_P1). 4 Gently push the plastic locking tab down, and slide the fan down to disengage the four anchor tabs that hold the fan to the chassis wall. Pull the fan away from the chassis wall (see the following figure). 113

NOTICE:
Before disconnecting a device from the computer or removing a
component from the system board, verify that the standby power light on the
system board has turned off. To locate this light, see "

Turn off the computer and devices, disconnect them from their
electrical outlets, wait at least 10 to 20 seconds, lay the computer on its
right side, and
open the computer cover
.

Remove the microprocessor airflow shroud
.

Disconnect the fan power cable from its connector on the system
board. To locate this connector, see "
System Board Components
."
NOTE:
There are two microprocessor cooling fans (FAN_P0 and
FAN_P1).

Gently push the plastic locking tab down, and slide the fan down to
disengage the four anchor tabs that hold the fan to the chassis wall.
Pull the fan away from the chassis wall (see the following figure).
