33 Phone calls Directly making calls from received messages While viewing a text or multimedia message, press OPTIONS, and then tap Call to directly place a call to the sender without opening the Phone dialer. For details on viewing text and multimedia messages, see the Messages chapter. Making an emergency call You can make emergency calls from your phone even if you don't have a SIM card installed or your SIM card has been blocked. 1. Press SEND/CALL to open the Phone dialer. 2. Dial the international emergency number for your locale (for example, 911), and then press SEND/CALL. Additional emergency numbers may be included in your SIM card. Contact your mobile operator for details. Receiving calls When you receive a phone call from a contact, the Incoming call screen appears and displays the caller ID icon, name, and phone number of the calling party. When you receive a phone call from someone who is not stored in People, only the default caller ID icon and phone number appear on the Incoming call screen. Answering or rejecting calls To Answer a call Mute the ring without rejecting the call Reject a call Do this Press SEND/CALL. Press VOLUME DOWN. Press END/EXIT. Handling multiple calls When there is another incoming call while you are already in a call, you will hear a notification sound from the earpiece and see a new incoming voice call screen.

Directly making calls from received messages
While viewing a text or multimedia message, press OPTIONS, and then tap
Call
to directly
place a call to the sender without opening the Phone dialer.

Making an emergency call
You can make emergency calls from your phone even if you don’t have a SIM card installed
or your SIM card has been blocked.
1.
Press SEND/CALL to open the Phone dialer.
2.
Dial the international emergency number for your locale (for example, 911), and then
press SEND/CALL.
Additional emergency numbers may be included in your SIM card. Contact your mobile
operator for details.
Receiving calls
When you receive a phone call from a contact, the Incoming call screen appears and displays
the caller ID icon, name, and phone number of the calling party.
When you receive a phone call from someone who is not stored in People, only the default
caller ID icon and phone number appear on the Incoming call screen.
