8 Setting Up the Service Processor and Storage System Before you begin setting up the storage system, review and complete the following tasks: • Complete the storage system installation checklist below. • Verify Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 or 2012 is currently running. Windows 2008 R2 or 2012 is required to perform host configurations. If the system does not meet the requirements, you can proceed with the software installation without using HP 3PAR SmartStart. Storage System Software Installation Checklist Verify the following before you begin the installation process: • All components are installed. • Review the storage system setup and make sure it is powered on. • All LEDs are properly functioning. • The SP is installed, powered on, and assigned an IP address; or the VSP is installed and connected, and the temporary IP address is determined. • The SP connection is established. 8 Setting Up the Service Processor and Storage System
Before you begin setting up the storage system, review and complete the following tasks:
Complete the storage system installation checklist below.
Verify Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 or 2012 is currently running. Windows 2008 R2 or 2012
is required to perform host configurations. If the system does not meet the requirements, you
can proceed with the software installation without using HP 3PAR SmartStart.
Storage System Software Installation Checklist
Verify the following before you begin the installation process:
All components are installed.
Review the storage system setup and make sure it is powered on.
All LEDs are properly functioning.
The SP is installed, powered on, and assigned an IP address; or the VSP is installed and
connected, and the temporary IP address is determined.
The SP connection is established.
