Chapter 9 1 Selection number label ● Printer documentation: For a list of print cartridge selection numbers, see the reference guide that came with the printer. ● HP Inkjet Toolbox: Open the HP Inkjet Toolbox and then select the Supplies panel. Ink-backup mode The printer can operate with only one print cartridge installed. For more information, see the ink-backup mode section. Installation instructions Follow these steps to install a print cartridge: 1 Verify that the printer is turned on. 2 Load Letter or A4 plain, white paper in the In tray. 3 Open the printer cover. 4 Wait until the print cartridge cradle moves to the right side of the printer and is idle and quiet. 5 Press down on the print cartridge, and then slide it out of the print cartridge cradle. 6 Remove the replacement print cartridge from its packaging and carefully remove the plastic tape. 62 HP Deskjet 5700 Series
