Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the base enclosure screws (see Base enclosure on page 25). 5. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 26). 6. Remove the top cover (see Top cover on page 28). 7. Remove the display panel (see Display panel on page 34). 8. Disconnect the battery cable (see Battery on page 32). 9. Remove the speakers (see Speakers on page 42) Remove the power connector cable: 1. Turn the computer, with the right side toward you. 2. Disconnect the power connector cable (1) from the system board. 3. Remove the double-sided tape (2) from the power connector. 4. Remove the power connector cable (3). Reverse this procedure to install the power connector cable and bracket. Component replacement procedures 45

Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps:

1.
Turn the computer, with the right side toward you.
2.
Disconnect the power connector cable

from the system board.
3.
Remove the double-sided tape

from the power connector.
4.
Remove the power connector cable
(3)

Reverse this procedure to install the power connector cable and bracket.
