6. Open the computer. 7. Use a case utility tool to separate the keyboard/top cover from the base enclosure (1). CAUTION: Releasing the keyboard/top cover too far or with too much force can damage the TouchPad, keyboard, and keyboard backlight cables or their connectors. 8. Release the keyboard/top cover (2) by swinging it up and back until the TouchPad, keyboard, and keyboard backlight cables are accessible. 9. Release the ZIF (zero insertion force) connector (3) to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect the TouchPad cable from the system board. 10. Release the ZIF connector (4) to which the keyboard cable is attached, and then disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. 11. On select models, release the ZIF connector (5) to which the keyboard backlight cable is attached, and then disconnect the keyboard backlight cable from the system board. 12.
